When in Doubt Draft Emails

When in doubt draft an email about your problem to the relevant expert/mailing list. Flesh out what you've done and what you see. Make a "fresh" iteration of what you did. Think about a plausible next step; try to predict what they will say. Sometimes you fix the problem before you even hit send.
